Faculty of Agronomy Economics
Program Overview
The Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development is a faculty within the Kampong Cham National Institute of Agriculture. The Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development was established in 2024, having been upgraded from the former Department of Agricultural Economics and Management.
The Faculty’s vision is to become a leading, high-quality Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development that meets national and international standards, supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) of the Republic of Korea and agricultural development partners in Cambodia, through education, training, research, and technology dissemination.
Its main mission is to develop skilled human resources in the fisheries and aquaculture sector through training, advancing research, development, technology transfer, and dissemination related to fisheries and aquaculture science, as well as associated fields.
The Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development is an academic institution with capable and talented human resources for teaching, practical application, innovative research, and providing quality support services to students and the community. Currently, the Faculty operates in collaboration with various agricultural communities, the Department of National Community, the Department of Planning and Statistics, the Agricultural Marketing Office, the Department of Agricultural Extension, Forestry and Fisheries, the Department of Rural Development (of the Ministry of Rural Development), the Department of Local Product Development (of the Office of the Council of Ministers), and partner projects, national and international organizations such as KOICA and CDRI.
To support teaching, training, and research, the Faculty has classrooms for students, meeting rooms, offices for academic staff, and an Econometrics research room located within the campus of the Kampong Cham National Institute of Agriculture.
Program Highlights
The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development program, specializing in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, is designed to produce qualified and skilled human resources for the agriculture and rural development sectors. This is achieved by providing students with the knowledge and skills for entrepreneurship and employment related to these fields, including:

Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, students will be able to:
Work in public institutions, private companies, and national or international organizations within the agriculture sector and related fields.
Become researchers, consultants, and facilitators for community work and agricultural development projects.
Establish and operate businesses and services relevant to their skills and expertise.
Process and analyze data using SPSS, Excel, and other software applications.
Manage enterprises such as farms (crop production: food crops, fruit trees, industrial crops, etc.), seed production, landscaping services, and more.
Operate businesses selling agricultural equipment, tools, and supplies.
Continue studies for a Master's degree in Agricultural Economics and Rural Development or related fields, both domestically and abroad.
